Why do you call it "Old Xuhui"?

As mentioned, Old Xuhui refers to the area that many expats and some locals call the former French Concession. For many Chinese, this term is offensive, reminding them of de-facto occupation of select areas within the company, during a time that is also called "Century of Humiliation".

Where exactly is this area?

Old Xuhui is right in the center of town, bordering Jing'an and Huangpu District. It's three main streets are Hengshan Road, Middle Huaihai Road, and West Jianguo Road.
